Startup Mela @ Lords

Empowering the Lords Family to Build the Next Generation of Startups

The management of Lords Institute of Engineering & Technology (LIET) is proud to announce the launch of Startup Mela, a pioneering initiative to encourage students, faculty, alumni, and staff to start their own ventures and actively participate in the nation’s innovation ecosystem.

Objective

Startup Mela aims to provide aspiring entrepreneurs within the LIET community with an accessible platform to convert their ideas into registered businesses and nurture them through a structured incubation process. This initiative reflects LIET’s vision to create a vibrant startup culture on campus and contribute to India’s growing entrepreneurial landscape.

Sponsorship Scheme

  • Under this scheme, the applicant (student/faculty/staff/alumni) will pay only ₹6,000 towards the registration of either a Private Limited Company or a Partnership Firm.

  • The remaining registration expenses will be borne by the LIET Management to ensure ease of entry into the entrepreneurial journey.

  • Once the registration process is complete, the Certificate of Incorporation will be handed over to the applicant.

Important Note: Apart from the initial sponsorship of the registration fee, LIET will not be liable for any further expenses or liabilities once the certificate of incorporation has been issued. All subsequent costs, statutory filings, compliance, taxes, or any other liabilities will rest solely with the applicant.

Post-Registration Support

To ensure the ventures grow beyond registration, LIET will extend comprehensive support through the LIET Incubator Forum for a period of 18 months. Support includes:

  • Mentorship and guidance from experienced industry professionals and entrepreneurs.

  • Networking opportunities and strategic connects with investors, startups, and ecosystem enablers.

  • Access to campus infrastructure, incubation space, and technical resources.

  • Student manpower in the form of internships and project collaborations.

  • Assistance in preparing for competitions, hackathons, and grant applications.

  • Regular review and guidance sessions to ensure startups progress towards sustainability.

Eligibility

  • All students currently enrolled at LIET.

  • Faculty and staff members of LIET.

  • Alumni of LIET who wish to formalize their entrepreneurial ventures.

Vision

Startup Mela is not just about registering companies; it is about creating an environment where innovation is encouraged, ideas are nurtured, and the spirit of entrepreneurship becomes a way of life at Lords Institute of Engineering & Technology.
